Myself, alongside four other students, collaborated to make 6" wide stickers, celebrating our upcoming 2020 graduation as GCM students at Ryerson. To execute this idea, we used a 6-colour flexographic press, courtesy of Heidelberg.
To begin, we determined all necessary specs (i.e. substrate, colour, die shape/size, deadlines, etc.) Then, we made our designs using illustrator, preflighted them, and ran the file through Esko to begin making our polymer plates. Later, we mounted our plates and mixed the chosen ink colours in preparation for the press run.
With the assistance of a professor we successfully operated the press and finished our product by cutting single sheets from our large roll of stickers.
My design was inspired by a popular type of colour blind tests.
